NONE of the questions in maths section had questions from topics like TRIGONOMETRY, GEOMETRY .

Why is it so ? As Trigonometry and Geometry are included in the Revised syllabus of

SSC CGLE 2012.

Dear Gurpreet very much thanks for your response in advance. As i have seen above that u scored 502cumulative score and got 361 rank. This means that if i have to get a posting on my choice such as that in NCR i have to score atleast 600 + and for that atleast a score of 150 in tier 1. Mr scores in english are very poor in mocks and previous papers between 7 and 10. can u guide to increase my gk score as it is turning out to be a nightmare for me.

I have some personal Query:

I too work in MNC company but interested to move to central govt job in future taking SSC CGL this year. I have few doubts cause of which I was little confused I selected MEA in list of postings over other posting

1) How powerful is the Assistant Ministry of External affairs post, is this just another clerical file managing job like CSS or have some authority and promotions in future like Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector examiner etc(asking whether challenging and can show talent in MEA like in inspector jobs)

2) Heard in MEA can move to foreign embassy once in 3year and next 3yr in Delhi throughout the tenure and salary will rise upto 1.25L/month in abroad is that true. And will they allowed to take family along with them?

3) Third and important doubt is if I got some other group B posting can I join that post and then take SSC exam again in the very same year as the reason to move to some other group B posting(same level) or only allowed to move to higher posting like group A/IAS like that?

Or do I have to reject the offer and try for next year results?

Really will be helpful if you clear my doubts thanks in advance.

hi gurpreet, i gave ssc cgle on 8th july, 2012, i was able to attempt only 6 qs in quant due to time mis-management rest other sections i attempted above 35-40 qs...... i m quite disappointed and want to know if there is any chance of getting cleared?

I will be completing my enge degree(Electronics stream) this september.My joining date of infosys is 18 june 2013.I want to go for government exams like SSC and Bank P.O.But next SSC and IBPS bank P.O exams are only after july after my joining at infosys.

Should i leave infosys and prepare for these exam or will i get get ample time for preparation during my training or working period at infosys.I qualified for IBPS bank P.O 2011 securing 158 marks(not eligible...just checking my preparation).

hello sir, i had also given ssc cgl 2012 and could achieve only 88.25 marks as per answer sheet provided by ssc. bt this time paper was really very tough from previous years.if you had seen the set 013nj2 of 8july morning , may be the case you hav the similiar feelings. i examined the paper again at home then realizing i could achieve 10 more marks if some silly mistakes had not been done and some more brain would have worked.now i am thinking for at least 300 marks in tier 2. but really disappointed by the joining of infi, it has given this year . my joinig date of infi is 18 feb 2013 while it was 26 sep for my seniors. now iam thinking to go to delhi after tier 2 for civil if it seems that i will get an interviw post .... just give your valuable comment on it.

my English is grammatically right,I think so. My writing is based on the spoken English. And I can write essay about any subject. But in SSC question paper, it's difficult for me to find which part is error(except very simple grammatical mistakes I can identify),it seems each sentence is write according to the sense of the sentence. so it affects my English scoring. vocabulary is endless, so it's in the hand of luck. please, suggest something how to improve English scoring & error correction part.

Hai gurupreet, i m an aspirant like u. i have done my graduation in pharmacy. since the jobs are not good in this field. i have attempted ssc 2011 without much prep. i got cag auditor. my score is 127, 70(maths),150(english). missed the cutoff by a hairbreadth.( i ve answered visually handicapped section in the last 15 minutes instead of data interpretation q's) my score would have been much better other wise.

Thank you sir.you also mentioned that these types of sum should be avoided in the exam. It's very important to me because I'm getting this cgl exam 13 marks(18 sums were attempted). time is really a great factor to me. It takes more or less 40 mins to do these limited no sums.

I have some straight forward questions, if you analyse the nomination details for various posts one finds that there is a column called ranking ...

(1) Are these the ranks assinged as per the total scoring?

(2) If (1) is true,then I find that the candidates with 18,19,21,23 (below 500) are nominated for Auditors in CAG..etc ,..I mean for Non-interview posts.

(3) Is it as per the choice of the candidates ?

(4) If it is as per the Candidates' choice then why would they prefer Non-interview post to interveiw posts.

(5) OR is there any fault with my interpretation ?

1. I've cleared Tier -1 with a narrow margin of 85 marks , while the cut-ff for the UR being 82. But i didn't prepare at all for the examination as i was in the final year of my engineering course. I wish to know how many marks are required to grab something out of the examination. ?

2. Suppose, i score 50 in interview , 85 already in Tier 1 , then how many should i strive for in Tier 2 to be eligible for any post. I mean , Is it like those who reach till interview are sure to get some post ?

I've cleared the prelims with mere minimum marks. The reason for such a weak performance was that I gave the exam half-heartedly and I didn't knew that there wasn't any sectional cut-off. My bad.

However, now I'm giving my 100% for the tier-2 examination. In your opinion, what must be the minimum number of marks I should secure in tier2 and interview combined to get ITI, considering that I secured 80 marks in tier 1 and the fact that I belong to SC quota.

I get through the link of preparation strategy and choice of sources to prepare well for each subject. The biggest problem i am facing is the concepts of reasoning every time i lose whenever tried to understand the tricks and logics associated with it. Earlier i used a single book with all subjects, but i found the shortcut solutions, difficult to understand how next step came and so on. Is there any book in the market that is good for step by step solutions. Can u please help me preparing for this section or suggest any reference book.

Many of us, if not all, want to prepare for Civil Services... Considering this in mind, I want you all to suggest the best option for those who wish to prepare further,for UPSC. As it is very clear, in that case focus is not on promotion prospects and reputation, but more on ease of work, free time and to some extent the salary that you get.

Considering that I was told that CAG Auditor offers best opportunity to devote maximum time to studies. I have personally met those who are working as Auditors and said that in the first 2 years they had to do nothing significant. On busiest day,they had to work for 2 hours. They even carried one or two books to the office and studied their as if they were in a library.(Well I was surprised).

Salary is also no more an issue as Auditors are now in Pay Band 2 (9300-34800) with 4200 Grade Pay(to be implemented this year). So an Auditor will draw a salary of 28000 in hand in cities like Delhi.

Honestly speaking, I am now convinced that its one of those jobs which gives best opportunity to prepare for other competitive exams.Some may argue that ITI, Excise are far better. But friends, the work pressure their is higher. Comparing the salary now, we don't find much difference now. Isn't it?

Remember, I am not saying Auditor is the best career option. I believe it suits best for those who have to prepare for UPSC etc. Because then time and peace of mind is most vital.

I have been called for interview but I am opting for CAG auditor at Delhi. I am expecting 385-390 in Tier 1+ 2. But I don't want other stressful jobs in other states as it will be easiest to prepare for UPSC at Delhi. Do you believe that I should skip interview or is it must to appear. Then I will have to ensure that I do not get more than 20-30 marks, so that I may not get a higher pay scale job. Unfortunately, all jobs with GP 4200 and 4600 are higher in my preference list.

If I could not make it to the UPSC, I will go for ITI after 2-3 years because then I will take it as my career option. But not now.Time factor compels me to do so.

Yesterday when i was checking the cgl tier 2 marks i couuldnt find my marks of maths paper and then to my horror i found out that i have awarded zero marks in maths paper due to some issue with ticket number as the reason mentioned in the website.

Sir, I have low color blindness , I can see the difference between all colors but can not differentiate between few shades as it has turns out in Ishiara test. Since Color blindness does not come under Blindness and We do not get any quota under PH. Nor they have mentioned any such criteria in Notice. If a candidates thus rejected can he approach court as In Army or Police advertisements it is duly mentioned that people with color blindness will not be permitted.

and contrary to common belief Color blind people can see all colors, I did not know I had this disability till i took the ishiara test, I can clear other colour tests but this test takes the better out of me.

all the candidates who got passed in interview are advised not to skip the interview as this year number of excise inspector is 2084 and cut-off will alos go down by at least 15-20 marks.

I am not that good in quants and I am an arts graduate. To be more lucid I got 80%ile in CAT in verbal and DI but 25%ile in quants.

I have got selected for stas inv. , TA and auditor i.e. list 2,3,4 but not for interview post. i am from Gen. cat. total marks 327.25 and if i include paper3 marks its 352.25. I am B.E(E&C) not sure if i am eligible for statistics investigator post. and have no idea at all what this post is. any chance to get rajasthan OR Delhi for any of these 3 posts?? can you guide me if i should choose stats inv. or should i go for auditor. in case I appear for interview and got selected for stats inv. but becasue of lesser marks i got far flung NE areas can i then switch to auditor in case i will get better state there. what is the highest one can think in a span of 10 year being in this post.
